ASAP is affiliated with one of the best and most dynamic court reporting training institutions in Canada: The Canadian Centre for Verbatim Studies (CCVS).

Court Reporting is a rewarding career offering wonderful opportunities and the potential for great financial success and independence. Fully approved by the Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities, CCVS is Canada’s only English college specializing in the education of Court Reporters and Broadcast Captioners. The school offers both in-class programs (full and part-time) and online courses which meet rigorous National Court Reporters Association (NCRA) standards. My Experience Has Been Extremely Rewarding

CCVS Student BBQ - I have been a student at CCVS for seven months now. Deciding to take the plunge and go for it was a very difficult decision to make, but I can honestly say that I've never looked back and regretted it. Starting all over and becoming a student again is difficult, and quitting my full-time, secure, well paying job was the hardest thing I've ever done, but it's all been very exciting. It's fun to learn new things again. The work is challenging and very rewarding when you finally understand it all. All of the staff members at CCVS are very encouraging and helpful. Everyone wants you to succeed. My fellow students are all in the same boat as me and together we pass tips back and forth and encourage each other. We have regular guest speakers too, which really helps us get various perspectives on the different career paths that will be available to us when we are done.

My experience here has been a extremely rewarding so far and I'm certain it will continue to be so. I strongly advise anyone with interest to look into this school. I believe this career will open many doors and give you access to many options not available to most people. The school is definitely one of a kind!

ASAP Reporting Academic Scholarship

To encourage current court reporting students to continue to strive for their career goals, ASAP Reporting Services is pleased to offer the following bi-annual scholarship to a deserving student who meets the requirements listed below.

Scholarship Description

Value: $1500

Availability: Open 2 times per year. Deadlines are January 31^st and June 30^th.

Qualifications:

must be a Canadian citizen
must be a full-time student of court reporting in Ontario
must be enroled in a full-time program for at least 6 months
passed a 100 wpm or faster realtime test at 95%+ accuracy
must demonstrate a 75% minimum total average on academic courses
must have participated in community service activities for a minimum of 30 hours in the last year prior to application
must not have received an ASAP Reporting Entrance Scholarship
must complete the scholarship application procedures

Selection Process:
Scholarship application forms will be available one month before the deadline. A selection committee will review the applications and select a winner if one meets all the requirements. The winner will be notified within one month after the application deadline at which time the award will be credited to the student's school account.

Restrictions
Applicants who received an entrance scholarship are not eligible to apply. Award recipients may only receive one award during their course of study.
